Chennai Volunteers is a social initiative launched by Mecheri Foundation in August, 2011. We aim to nurture civic engagement and ensure that non-profits can engage with volunteers in a sustainable and meaningful way, thereby enriching the experience of both partners.
Established in 1997, Mecheri Foundation is a philanthropic organisation that was set up with the aim of creating a positive impact on the communities around us. Today, it supports select non-government programmes and outreach initiatives which increase opportunity for and equity to those in need.
Since it’s inception, Mecheri Foundation has been actively involved in supporting the causes of several deserving, needy non-profits in Tamil Nadu. The foundation promotes education among underprivileged first generation learners and supports destitute elders, among other causes. The Foundation celebrated the 75th Birth anniversary of the founder, Mr. M.A. Ramaswamy on 17th June, 2011.
