Gremaltes Hospital

A pioneer in leprosy awareness and cure and a name to reckon with in general healthcare , Gremaltes  Hospital was started in 1971 by William Gershon in association with the German Leprosy & TB Relief Association ( GLRA) . Popularly known as German Hospital in the city, this hospital is a premier medical institution and serves the greater community by providing excellence in clinical care, patient safety and services. Uniquely designed to complement and enhance the delivery of responsive, efficient care, patients here embrace the atmosphere of wellness, prevention and cutting edge treatment standards. Committed to putting the patient "First", the doctors and the staff here strive to exceed expectations.

The hospital is recognized by the State and the Central Government as a treatment training centre for leprosy besides being a 'Facilitator' in the Strategy of Urban Leprosy Elimination Program ( UEP) for the Chennai, Thiruvalluvar and Kanchipuram District. Today, Gremaltes is fast expanding, designed for the health care of today, with dedicated plans for future expansion and medical trends to extend and reach out with quality care. You can provide support for many endeavours that mean the most to you, ranging from leprosy, tuberculosis, eye care, dental care, to speak of a few . As a volunteer you can also contribute your skillsets/time towards public health campaigns and camps conducted at the premises periodically.
